Over the past 25 years, MUST has experienced rapid development, becoming the comprehensive university with the largest student enrollment in Macao and ranking among the world's top universities for seven consecutive years. On December 19, 2024, the President Xi Jinping visited Macao and inspected MUST, receiving briefings on the National Key Laboratory of Chinese Medicine Mechanism and Quality and the National Key Laboratory of Lunar and Planetary Sciences. The President affirmed Macao's capability to conduct cutting-edge, world-class scientific research. In terms of internationalization, MUST successfully applied to host and organized for the first time in Macao the QS Higher Education Summit: Asia-Pacific 2024 and the Times Higher Education Asia Universities Summit 2025. Continuously deepening interdisciplinary technological innovation, the university focuses on cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence in medicine, innovative pharmaceuticals and precision medicine, coastal ecology and environment, fintech, and low-altitude economy. Among these, the "Macao Science Satellite-1" project serves as a pioneering example of high-level collaboration between Macao and Mainland China in advanced technology fields. Concurrently, MUST actively engages in the education of Macao's young scientific talent, aiming to cultivate versatile individuals with forward-looking perspectives. Having achieved significant accomplishments in teaching, research, and community service, MUST has established itself as an influential institution of higher learning within the region. Moving forward, MUST will continue to deepen its commitment to interdisciplinary research and talent cultivation, contributing to the appropriate economic diversification of Macao and the development of the Greater Bay Area.
