The research team from the Faculty of Innovation Engineering (FIE) at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) has successively won the First Prize and Second Prize in the 2024 China Air Transport Association Civil Aviation Science and Technology Award, as well as the Second Prize in the Scientific and Technological Progress Award of the 2025 Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics Science and Technology Award. This series of honors not only represents a high recognition of the team's research capabilities but also highlights MUST's important position in the aviation technology development.
First, the team secured both the First Prize and Second Prize in the 2024 China Air Transport Association Civil Aviation Science and Technology Award. This award is an authoritative and influential prize in the civil aviation field, attracting enthusiastic participation from research institutes, major airlines, and renowned universities in the industry. In this edition, a total of 6 First Prizes, 14 Second Prizes, and 11 Third Prizes were awarded, with all winning projects representing the innovative heights of key technologies in the current civil aviation sector. Among them, the team's First Prize project, “Key Technologies Research and Application of High-Level Multi-Aircraft Type Full-Motion Simulator”, focuses on the development of domestically produced high-level multi-aircraft type full-motion simulators, breaking through core technical bottlenecks and strongly promoting the construction of smart civil aviation. The Second Prize project, “Key Technologies and Applications of Wide-Angle Collimated Display Equipment”, successfully developed core display technologies, achieving wide-field and immersive display effects, widely applied in flight simulation and visual systems, significantly enhancing the realism and practical value of simulation training.

Subsequently, the team won the Second Prize in the Scientific and Technological Progress Award of the 2025 Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics Science and Technology Award. This award, established by the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, aims to recognize outstanding contributions in aviation scientific research, technological innovation, and achievement transformation. The Scientific and Technological Progress Award particularly rewards aviation technology application projects with significant economic or social benefits, holding extremely high industry authority. The winning project, “Key Technologies and Applications of Flight and Navigation Procedure Trainer”, was jointly developed by experts in aviation engineering and related fields. The project focuses on innovation in key aviation technologies, effectively improving civil aviation training levels, promoting the industrialization and application of related technologies, and injecting new momentum into the development of the aviation industry.

Behind these honors lies the FIE's pursuit of breakthroughs in key technologies in the aviation field, as well as its continuous deep cultivation in interdisciplinary research and industry-academia-research integration. The faculty has been rooted in the development opportunities of the Greater Bay Area, actively promoting scientific research cooperation with relevant units in the Bay Area. It has successively signed strategic cooperation agreements with companies such as Zhuhai Xiangyi Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. and China Southern Airlines Technology Company. The team has formed synergistic innovation advantages in the aviation and aerospace fields, further expanding the research vision and cooperation landscape. In the future, the faculty will continue to focus on breakthroughs in key technologies in the civil aviation field, further deepen cooperation with relevant units in the Greater Bay Area, promote the transformation and implementation of more research achievements, and contribute to the development of China's civil aviation and technological innovation.
