Applications Now Open! MUST Launches Macao's First Master of Artificial Intelligence Law Program

The Faculty of Law of the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) proudly introduces Macao's first Master of Artificial Intelligence Law Program, designed to cultivate interdisciplinary talent equipped with both legal expertise and technological literacy to address cutting-edge legal issues arising from rapid AI advancements. The program will commence in fall 2026 and online applications are now open until July 6, 2026(UCT+8).

Program Highlights

  • Interdisciplinary Integration: This program aims to transcend the limitations of conventional legal education by integrating diverse fields such as law, computer science, ethics, and policy studies. The objective is to cultivate a new generation of professionals who can effectively tackle the complex legal challenges presented by the age of artificial intelligence.

  • Cutting-Edge Course Design: Core courses include General Theory of AI Law, Cyber and Information Security Law, Data Law, Algorithmic Regulation, while electives cover Foundations of Computer Science and AI, Legal Regulation of Typical AI Application Scenarios, Smart Judiciary and Smart Legal Services, etc.

  • Development of Interdisciplinary Competencies: Graduates will gain a broader international perspective and the ability to conduct in-depth research on cutting-edge and complex issues in AI law, positioning them as highly skilled professionals in the realm of AI law.

Academic Excellence

Established in 2000, the Faculty of Law is one of the four founding faculties of MUST. It offers a comprehensive array of academic programs at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels, distinguished by its emphasis on teaching and research that reflect "diverse cultural backgrounds" and "cross-border legal content."

Backed by the Faculty of Law’s two national-level platforms—the Macau Intellectual Property Research Center and the Macau Research Center for the Judicial Training Base of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization—the program leverages partnerships with institutions like the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration to deliver theory-practice synergy. By integrating resources from MUST’s Faculty of Law and Computer Science disciplines, the program offers a unique "Law + Technology" training model, equipping students with robust academic foundations, practical exposure, and global insights.

  • Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in law (or equivalent); non-law graduates must hold legal qualifications or ≥2 years of legal work experience.
